Luckily the guys at the Triple Door know how to stop a leak quickly and efficiently, so the venue is back to its previous dryness and splendor, and more than ready for John to take the stage on Thursday September 30. We cannot tell you yet what the show is going to be like—whether there will be new songs, very old songs, blues jams, trained monkeys or fire-eaters, is still up in the air. What we do know though is that the show is tentatively called “John and Friends,” and John is positive that he is going to “find some friends” before the end of the month. And like every event John puts together, this one is going to be very special. You can buy tickets at the Triple Door.
Update: We said John Roderick was going to find some friends to play with him this Thursday at The Triple Door. And guess what: he picked his most faithful The Long Winters friend Eric Corson to be on his team. Whether this means that you will hear some of the new songs the two of them have been working on, or a two-hour guitar jam to celebrate the upcoming Black Sabbath tribute album they participate in, no one knows.
John is very happy to announce that great Seattle band Goldfinch will be opening the evening.
