We are excited to announce that The Long Winters will do a band show during CMJ in New York. On Friday October 18th, The Bowery Ballroom will see the band perform the 2003 album When I Pretend to Fall in its entirety. This concert precedes a similar show in Seattle in November, celebrating the 15th anniversary of Barsuk Records.
The line-up for these shows will consist of the original When I Pretend to Fall band: Michael Shilling on drums, Eric Corson on bass and Sean Nelson on keyboard, with John Roderick guitar and vocals [due to other obligations Eric Corson won’t be able to join the band in NY].
The band haven’t performed together in this line-up since early 2004, but toured the WIPTF album solidly in 2003, to much acclaim, across the USA and all the way to Europe:
“With the release of their latest stellar offering, When I Pretend to Fall, local boys the Long Winters continue making a great impression both in and outside their home town of Seattle.” – Portland, OR.
“After all, when these two [Roderick and Nelson] are singing together there is something magical in the air.” – Rotterdam, Netherlands;
“It offered from the start all that makes The Long Winters so special: the energy, the wonderful harmony vocals, the fun in playing and the wonderful lyrics in every song – Münster, Germany
