Ultimatum

An epic studio experiment, the Long Winters’ Ultimatum EP is gilded with string quartets and analog synths, but at its core are four adventurous songs about disaster. Electric guitar takes a backseat to toy keyboards and trashed drum-loops as shuttles crash, lovers drown, and machines take over the Earth.

Bonus: two live, solo acoustic performances which reveal the naked power of John Roderick’s songs minus the studio finery.

Available Tuesday, October 11th.

Cover of "When I Pretend to Fall"

When I Pretend to Fall

This is our second record. It's made of downtown right as the sun comes out after it's been raining and a little bit of three a.m. city bus in from the airport. There are several big fights between people who love each other that end with both people breaking into song and someone in a tee-shirt with rolled-up sleeves playing a sax solo. Also, there are friends coming to the rescue and there are other friends who don't want to be rescued and there are a few friends that do want to be rescued but don't want to have to ask.

The Worst You Can Do is Harm

This is our first record. It's full of ghosts and shipwrecked relationships. It can easily be mistaken for a pop record, but there are secret places in it that belong to whomever finds them and wants to claim them. There are pianos. And there's a dog.
