The Long Winters and Spiral Stairs split single

We resisted the urge to mess with your heads and title this message "The Long Winters Split". In fact, it wouldn't be fair, because although we still ask you to wait a little longer for the new album, you can get your hands on new Long Winters material with amazing regularity. Latest project to see the day of light is a split single for the Mt. Fuji label, with Spiral Stairs, aka Scott Kannberg of Pavement and Preston School of Industry fame.

Mt. Fuji label head Michael Jaworski was the genius behind getting both acts coming together for a collaborative release and the result is a double A-side, split single featuring Spiral’s contribution “Dreams They Guide Us” and The Long Winters song “Connections in Nashville.” The Spiral Stairs contribution is a leftover B-side from his recent Matador Records release “The Real Feel” while The Long Winters song will feature on the new album. As always with The Long Winters, only time will tell if this split single version will be the one ending up on the album, so it could become a collector's item. And if you should need any more encouragement to pre-order this goodie: only 500 copies of this 7" were pressed on beautiful clear vinyl and a free download code is included with every record.

» Pre-order the release now from the Mt. Fuji website for arrival before the street date! The 7" will also be available through all digital retailers starting 09.21.10.
